Tournament Central

FLORENCE, S.C. – Sophia Biolay, Jantje Tilbuerger and Noel Saidenova of the UCF women's tennis team wrapped up their time at the ITF W25 Florence earlier this week, with two of the three securing a win in the process.

Both Biolay and Tilbuerger began their runs in the qualifying draw of the tournament. Biolay defeated recent Auburn graduate Yu Chen 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the final round of the qualifying draw. Tilbuerger topped blue-chip recruit prospect Shannon Lam by a score of 6-1, 5-7, 11-9 to advance to the final round as well.

Biolay was bested by former Wintrhop star Lauren Proctor 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 to end her run at the tournament. Tilbuerger also was defeated in the final round before the main draw, losing by the same scoreline of 7-6 (7-5) to Princeton's Victoria Hu.

Saidenova was unable to chalk up a victory in the tournament, falling in the first round of qualifying to Hu in a tight 6-4, 7-5 contest.

Three professional tournaments are left on the schedule for UCF this fall, with tournaments in Fort Worth, Champaign and Waco coming up through mid-November.
