SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UCF men's golf team turned in a team score of 291 (+3) on Tuesday to finish fifth with a three-round score of 869 (+5) at the Carolina Cup held at the Carolina Country Club.
For the second consecutive day, Egor Eroshenko led the Knights, carding a score 71 to finish tied for 10th on the player leaderboard along with teammate Markus Braadlie. The Russia native was two under on the front nine with three birdies and one over on the back nine with a pair of birdies. For the tournament, Eroshenko tallied a three-round total of 214 with a 75 in the first round, 68 in the second and a 71 in the third round.
Braadlie was even par (72) on Tuesday to move into the to remain among the top 10 players in the event. The fifth year logged a 35 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine, ending the day at even par. His three-day score of 214 (-2) was compiled following a 72 in the opening round, 70 in the second round and 72 in the final round.
Juan Camilo Vesga finished the event tied for 20th with a score of 219 (+3). He registered a score of 75 on Tuesday with four birdies after carding a 67 in the first round and 77 in the second round.
With a score of 222 for the tournament, six over par, Luis Carrera tied for 34th in the field thanks to a 73 on Tuesday. He had a 38 on the front nine and a 35 on the back nine to conclude the day one over par. Carrera tallied a 71 in the first round and 78 in the second round to contribute to his overall score in the tournament.
In the lineup for the first time this season, Clement Charmasson closed out the Carolina Cup with his best round of the week with a score of 74 (+2). He was even following the front nine and finished two over on the back nine.
The Knights will return to action at the Isleworth Collegiate, an event hosted by UCF at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Windermere, Florida. The event runs from Sunday, October 23 through Tuesday, October 25.
