Knights Ready to Host No. 13 Ole Miss

ORLANDO – The UCF women's soccer team is back at home this weekend playing No. 13 Ole Miss on Sunday at the UCF Soccer Complex at 6 p.m. ET.

The Knights were scheduled to play North Florida this past Thursday, Sept. 1, but unfortunately due to inclement weather the game was canceled. There are no current plans to reschedule, however if that changes, new information will be announced.

The team has kicked off the year strong with a 2-0-2 record, which is their best start since 2002 when they started 4-0-0.

UCF faced off with Ole Miss for the first time in six years during the 2021 season and came out on top with a 3-0 win. The team put up a strong defense holding the Rebels to 24 shots, with seven saves by goalkeeper, Caroline DeLisle. This was a thrilling game for Ariel Young as well, as she scored her first career goal as a Knight against Ole Miss.

The Knights and Rebels have a short history, only facing off five times since 2005. UCF has an overall record of 2-2-1 against Ole Miss, with their losses occurring in the team's first two matchups in 2005 and 2007.

In more recent years, the Knights have played ambitiously, beating the Rebels in 2014 with a 4-0 win. The 2015 match up was a little tougher, ending in a 2-2 tie in overtime.

No. 13 Ole Miss has also had a strong start to their season with a 4-0-1 record with a win over No. 22 Memphis.

The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
