UCF Releases Full Women's Hoops Schedule

ORLANDO — The full 2022-23 UCF women's basketball schedule is set as the American Athletic Conference announced the conference slate from the league office on Wednesday.

For the fourth straight season, the Knights open their season with a two-game homestand starting out with Winthrop on Nov. 7 followed by Mercer on Nov. 10.

UCF will head to Buies Creek, North Carolina, for the first road game of the season as Campbell hosts the Knights on Nov. 15.

The Black and Gold will have a four-game homestand starting on Nov. 22 with a matchup against Louisiana-Monroe. The Thanksgiving Classic will take place on Saturday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Nov. 27 with the Knights playing Samford and Southeast Missouri State, respectively.

The Knights will kick off December by hosting Sam Houston State on the first of the month, followed by a road game on Dec. 3 at Auburn.

UCF will be back in action at Addition Financial Arena on Dec.11 as the Knights host Seton Hall.

A midweek trip to Tennessee on Dec. 14 will be the second all-time meeting with the Volunteers.

The Black and Gold will finish out the 2022 calendar year with three home games before the New Year. UCF will host Idaho State on Dec. 20 followed by a quick turnaround versus Elon on Dec. 21. After the Christmas Break, the Knights host Texas Southern on Dec. 29.

The Knights will open conference play in Dallas at SMU on Jan. 3. The 8 p.m. contest will air on ESPN+.

UCF will host Tulsa on Jan. 7 for the conference home opener with tipoff scheduled for 1p.m.

The Black and Gold will head to Houston for a matchup on Jan. 10. Followed by back-to-back home games versus Wichita State on Jan. 15 and Tulane on Jan. 17.

The Knights will hit the road to South Florida on Jan. 22 for the War on I-4 and then Temple on Jan. 28.

The second round between the Knights and the Mustangs is slated for Feb. 1 in Orlando. UCF will continue the homestand on Feb. 4 as it hosts East Carolina.

UCF will make a midweek trip to Cincinnati on Feb. 8 followed by a Feb. 11 game at Memphis with a lone meeting with the Tigers. The Knights return to Addition Financial Arena on Feb. 15 to host South Florida for the second War on I-4 matchup with tipoff slated for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

UCF heads to Greenville on Feb. 18 to play East Carolina, before returning home to host Temple on Feb. 21.

The last games of the regular season will include a home matchup with Cincinnati on Feb. 25, followed by a road game on March 1 at Tulsa to finish out the regular season.

The 2023 American Athletic Conference Championship will return to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. For the third straight year, the women's and men's tournament will run in conjunction, with the women's championship slated to be held March 6-9.

UCF enters the 2022-23 campaign with six returners and seven newcomers. Last year, the Knights went 26-4 and 14-1 in conference play.
 
The Black and Gold welcome a new staff for this season with the hiring of head coach, Sytia Messer. Messer brought in a new staff with her, including hires of Tennille Adams and Greg Brown as associate head coach, Michelle Edwards appointed as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator and Josh Shen as director of operations.

The 2022-23 campaign gets underway Nov. 9 as the Knights host Winthrop in the season opener.
