ORLANDO – UCF Athletics announced today its partnership with Mercury, a leading digital brand experience company dedicated to leading collegiate sports properties, top athletes and devoted fanbases. Through the partnership, Knight Nation will gain access to ChargeOn (chargeon.xyz), a premium digital platform providing specialized Knights student-athlete-driven NIL content, official UCF digital collectible drops, and opportunities for fans to win experiences that bring them even closer to their favorite teams and athletes.
"Through our partnership with Mercury, we're creating a dynamic, interactive experience available to every fan who wants to engage with our athletes, our coaches, and our teams, and be a part of every special moment this season like never before," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir.
ChargeOn.xyz will include Knights-led conversations on the new Next Up by Mercury podcast, team news and discussion forums, athlete chats, and premium digital collectibles that create exclusive in-person access opportunities and capture the spirit of the athletes, the coaches, and the defining moments of the season.
"I've already started working with the Mercury team to create content and interact with UCF fans in creative ways," said quarterback John Rhys Plumlee. "I'm looking forward to having fun directly with UCF fans through the ChargeOn.XYZ platform."
The platform is made possible by recent NIL rule changes, which allows UCF student-athletes to profit from endorsement opportunities using their name, image, and likeness. ChargeOn.XYZ will offer fans numerous opportunities to engage with student-athletes through special events, one-on-one conversations, signed memorabilia, and behind-the-scenes access.
"Knight nation is one of the most dedicated fan bases in the country, and we are proud to partner with UCF to build a new era of the fan experience," said Porter Grieve, CEO of Mercury. "In partnership with the university's pioneering athletic department, we will work with UCF and their athletes to bring them closer to the fans in innovative and memorable ways."
UCF fans can get access to ChargeOn today by visiting chargeon.xyz, or by scanning the QR code on the new mural at FBC Mortgage Stadium by section 101. The first 100 fans to register on the platform will receive a free membership pass, with the full pass sale and platform launch happening on Monday, Sept. 26. Fans looking for more info can join the community Discord chat to connect with the ChargeOn team and fellow Knights fans.
