ORLANDO - The UCF cross country team will head to John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama Friday, Sept. 16 to race in the North Alabama Showcase.
After a strong showing at the UCF Invite two weeks ago, where the team placed second in overall rankings, the Knights will look to continue to improve their times. There will be an additional 44 women's collegiate teams taking part in the women's 5k race, which will begin at 9:15 a.m. ET Friday.
At the UCF Invite, seven Knights placed in the top 25, with freshman Isabella Richardson leading the team and placing second individually in her first race for UCF. Another freshman, Lillian Holtery, also placed in the top 15, earning 12th at 19:06.9.
This past week, the Knights moved up to No. 13 in the South Region rankings of the latest USTFCCCA Coaches Poll. This is up two spots from a preseason ranking of No. 15.
