Volleyball Dominates En Route to Sweep of UNCW

ORLANDO – The UCF volleyball team swept UNCW in straight sets by a score of 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-19), in the Venue on Friday evening.

In a match that featured only five lead changes, the Knights dominated in all facets of the game.

McKenna Melville led the way with her 15 kills. Amber Olson had 33 of the Knights' 40 assists.

The Knights breezed through the first set by a score of 25-12. They hit a staggering .440 to carry them to a 1-0 lead.

The second set was much of the same as the Knights would win it 25-15 while hitting .400.

The Seahawks would give UCF a run for its money in the third and final set. Even with the closer score of 25-19, UCF still managed to hit .326

Four different Knights made their season debuts. Emma Turluck, Stella Gkiourda, MaKenzie Chambers, and Amari Williams. Chambers had five kills on the night, Gkiourda had two, and Williams had one

This is the Knights' third consecutive win to kick off the season. They will be back in action tomorrow, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in The Venue against Miami.
