ORLANDO – The UCF cross country team is ready to kick off its 2022 campaign this Friday, Sept. 2 at home for the UCF Invite.
The meet will include a men's race beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the women's team at 6:30 p.m.
UCF will host Miami, FAU, Stetson, USF, FGCU, Bethune-Cookman, Florida, and FIU for this competitive 5k race. The meet will be held at the UCF Softball Complex.
The Knights added eight new athletes to their roster, with 11 returning from last year.
Charlotte Crook is back for her senior year and after placing third in the 1500-meter race at The American Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May 2022.
The Black and Gold have performed very well the last three years at the UCF Invite, winning team titles each year. They hope to start this season strong continuing that success for a fourth year in a row.
