Cross Country Ready to Begin 2022 Season

ORLANDO - The UCF cross country team will be returning to action on Friday, Sept. 2 to start the 2022 season. The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I Cross Country Women's rankings tabbed the Knights 15th in the South Region.

The Knights look to build on a strong 2021 season, which concluded with UCF finishing #15 at the NCAA South Regional Final, their best finish since 2014.

UCF will begin their 2022 campaign at home, as the Knights host the UCF Invite. The race will take place on Friday, Sept. 2nd, at the UCF Softball Complex. The men's race will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the women's race, at 6:30 p.m. The Knights look to continue to defend their home course, as they have won three straight team titles at the UCF Invite. 

The Knights will continue their season with the North Alabama showcase on Friday, Sept. 16th. UCF will then travel south to FAU for the Florida Atlantic Invitational on Friday, Sept. 30th. Last year, the Knights finished with an impressive second-place showing in Boca Raton, with five athletes placing in the top 15. The regular season concludes with a visit to Texas A&M for the Arturo Barrios Invite. This event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15th. 

The AAC Championship will take place on Friday, Oct. 28th, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The NCAA Regional Championship will take place on Friday, Nov. 11th, in Huntsville, Alabama. The NCAA Championship will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19th, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
