ORLANDO – Former United States Junior Champion and three-time NCAA All-American Cameron Peck has been named assistant coach for the UCF Men's Golf program, head coach Bryce Wallor announced on Thursday. Peck joins the Knights following seven years of professional golf.
"We're extremely excited to add Cameron to our coaching staff," said Wallor. "Cameron brings with him a junior/college playing resume that is few and far between in the college coaching ranks, and we feel that his extremely successful playing pedigree will translate well in the recruitment of future Knights as well as in the daily leadership of our current student-athletes. Young men want to be around and coached by people that have that been there-done that factor, and Cameron certainly has that knowledge and experience to offer our student-athletes."
Peck was a four-time PING All-Region selection and three-time All-American at Texas A&M. The Olympia, Washington, native earned All-Conference honors in three of his four seasons in College Station. Peck lettered each year with the Aggies and ranks third in the career record books for scoring average at 72.47. His 160 career rounds played, and career birdies (490) ranked as the most in program history at the conclusion of his college career.
Following his tenure with Texas A&M, Peck also owned the most rounds at par or better with 77 in the history of the program.
"I'm very grateful for the opportunity to join the UCF men's golf program," said Peck. "After meeting Coach Wallor, I really respected the hard work and passion he puts into the program. I hope to use the knowledge that I have acquired throughout my playing career, to help student-athletes achieve their goals while here at UCF."
In 2013, Peck won the prestigious Washington State Amateur Championship and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA) Amateur Title.
During the 2010-11 season, Peck fired a 9-under-par 63, which is still tied for the lowest round in Texas A&M program history. Peck finished in third place as an individual at the 2010 NCAA National Championship.
Prior to his collegiate career, Peck won the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship in 2008 and was tabbed the AJGA Rolex Junior Player of the Year that same season.
Peck played on the PGA Tour Canada following graduation from May 2014 through September 2017.
He turned in his best showing as a pro golfer at the 2016 Players Cup, as he finished tied for second place with a four-day total score of 266 (-18).
Peck was an SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Leadership and Development from Texas A&M in 2014.
