ORLANDO – The UCF women's soccer team (1-0-1) checks in at No. 23 in the first United Soccer Coaches Poll of the regular season.
The Knights debut in the poll after a 3-0 win over Florida at home and a 1-1 draw against LSU on the road.
Kristen Scott, Dayana Martin, and Mallory Olsson all scored goals to take down Florida in a thrilling opening-night match.
Katie Bradley scored on a free kick just outside the box against LSU, and Caroline DeLisle made a stellar save that was ranked No. 4 on Monday's SportsCenter Top 10 Plays to clinch a hard-fought draw on the road. DeLisle also went on to win American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for her efforts.
This is the Knights first appearance in the top 25 since Sept. 22 of last season. They are one of two AAC squads ranked with SMU coming in at No. 15.
Three teams remaining on UCF's schedule appear in the rankings, North Carolina at No. 1, Ole Miss at No. 12, and SMU at No. 15.
