UCF Athletics fiscal year update: Record-setting revenue-generating year

UCF Athletics recently completed yet another record-breaking year of fund-raising and revenue generation for fiscal year 2022 (that ended June 30, 2022):

  • The ChargeOn Fund, the fundraising arm for UCF Athletics, secured a record $43.8M in commitments and received $20.2M in cash.
  • The fiscal year featured a record number of ChargeOn Fund donors at 11,804.
  • The Shareholders Society, the major gift recognition program for UCF Athletics,  grew by 51% (donors with a commitment of $25,000 or more over a period of up to five years).
  • UCF Athletics secured a $19.5M, 10-year FBC Mortgage Stadium naming rights agreement that begins with the 2022 season.
  • UCF Athletics doubled its number of corporate partners compared to the previous fiscal year.
  • UCF signed a $125M multi-media rights deal with Playfly Sports.
  • UCF enjoyed a record year in licensing revenue.
  • Meanwhile, fewer than 900 football season tickets remain for the Knights' 2022 season, resulting in the largest number of season tickets sold in UCF history.

"As the Knights begin their last season in a very competitive conference, the AAC (American Athletic Conference), our goal is to continue to win conference championships as we transition to the Big 12," says Terry Mohajir, UCF vice president and director of athletics.

"Our objective annually is to provide our student-athletes and coaches with the resources they need to compete for and win championships. The research we did for the Mission XII project provided us with additional benchmarks for us as we anticipate the move to the Big 12.

"We have plans for upgrades in facilities and other areas for virtually all of our programs, and so identifying resources is more important than it has ever been.

"Knight Nation has been an unbelievable partner in this venture, and we look forward to walking hand in hand with all of our UCF fans as we forge ahead.

"In addition, we now have sold enough football season tickets for 2022 to make this the largest season ticket base in UCF history."

On the fields and courts, UCF teams in 2021-22 claimed:
--American Athletic Conference titles in volleyball, women's basketball (regular season and tournament), softball (regular season and tournament) and women's indoor and outdoor track and field
--NCAA Championship appearances in volleyball, women's basketball, women's tennis, men's and women's golf, softball (and individuals in women's indoor and outdoor track and field), as well as a football bowl victory
--A 2022 NCAA super regional appearance in softball (after a #16 national seed and a title in the Orlando Regional) and NCAA first-round wins in women's basketball and women's tennis
--First-team All-America honors for Rayniah Jones in the 2022 NCAA 60-meter hurdles indoors and the 4x100 relay outdoors (joining Ciara Holback, Beyonce Defreitas and I'Asia Wilson). She won three events at the 2022 AAC Indoor Track and Field Championships and was named the meet's outstanding performer. Also winning first-team recognition in 2022 was Jada Cody in softball.
