UCF fifth year Isaiah Bowser has been named to the watch list for the 2022 Wuerffel Trophy presented by the Wuerffel Foundation. The award is college football's premier award for community service with athletic and academic achievement.
During his collegiate tenure, Bowser has participated in numerous community service events, highlighted most recently by a Down Syndrome bowling event and a Sickle Cell event where UCF football players visited patients at a local center.
Named after Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from the University of Florida, the Wuerffel Trophy is presented each February in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The trophy honors college football players who serve others, celebrate their positive impact on society and inspire greater service in the world.
Semifinalists for the award will be announced on November 1, and finalists will be announced on November 22.
The formal announcement of the 2022 recipient is scheduled to be made on December 8, and the presentation of the 2022 Wuerffel Trophy will occur on February 24, 2023.
The Sidney, Ohio, native is also on the Doak Walker Award Preseason Watch List and is a second-team pick on the preseason 2022 all-American Athletic Conference teams named by Athlon and Lindy's.
