ORLANDO - UCF senior offensive guard Lokahi Pauole has been named to the preseason watch list (one of 89 players) for the 2022 Outland Trophy presented by the Football Writer Association of America (FWAA) to the nation's top interior lineman.
Pauole (6-4, 305 pounds) has made 21 career starts at UCF. He was a second-team all-American Athletic Conference selection in 2021 by vote of league coaches and by Phil Steele. He helped the Knights rank 28th nationally in rushing, the fourth straight season UCF averaged at least 196 yards per game.
From Kapolei, Hawaii, Pauole on a 2022 preseason basis was listed on Lindy's and Phil Steele all-AAC first team and on the Athlon Sports second team,
There are 29 offensive tackles on this year's list, ahead of 25 defensive tackles to go with 18 centers and 17 guards.
The recipient of the 2022 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Dec. 8. The official presentation to the winner will be made Jan. 11, 2023, at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, Nebraska.
