ORLANDO – The UCF softball team earned the American Athletic Conference Team Academic Excellence Award the league announced Thursday.
The Knights were tabbed for the third straight year and the fourth time overall previously collecting the honor in 2015, 2020 and 2021.
UCF team members combined for a 3.61 grade point average for the 2022 spring semester.
UCF posted a 49-14 record in 2022, winning both the regular-season conference championship and the conference tournament. The historic season was capped off by hosting the first NCAA regional in school history and advancing to the super regional round for the first time as well.
In addition to softball's four Team Academic Excellence Awards, UCF has collected the award in football and women's basketball in 2013-14, football, men's basketball and softball in 2014-15, men's golf and women's tennis in 2015-16, volleyball in 2016-17, men's tennis in 2017-18, rowing and volleyball in 2018-19 and rowing and volleyball in 2019-20.
