ORLANDO – UCF men's golf senior Johnny Travale is gearing up for his first career PGA Tour event, the RBC Canadian Open, taking place from June 9-12 at St. George's Golf and Country Club in Toronto, Ontario.
Travale comes into the event with a sponsor exemption. The Hamilton, Ontario native was UCF's top golfer this season as he led the team with a 71.64 scoring average, good for seventh best all-time in program history.
Travale was a unanimous All-American Athletic Conference selection for the second straight year in 2021-22 and was the Knights' top finisher at five of 10 events, including winning it all at the Hartford Hawks Invitational back in September with a line of 69-72-64=205, -11. His final round of 8-under-par 64 in the event is tied for the fourth lowest 18-hole score in UCF history and his 205(-11) total is also tied for the sixth lowest 54-hole total in program history.
Best of luck to our own @jtravalegolf as he tees off in his first career @PGATOUR event tomorrow! @RBCCanadianOpen

Canada's national Open dates all the way back to 1904 and is the fourth-longest continuously running event behind the British Open, the U.S. Open and the Western Open/BMW Championship.
The tournament will be played at St. George's near Toronto for the first time since 2010. Rory McIlroy won the last Canadian Open played in 2019 at Hamilton and returns this week as defending champion -- three years later. The total purse is 8.7 million dollars with 1.56 million going to the winner.
Live coverage of the Canadian Open will be available on CBS, Golf Channel, ESPN+ and SiriusXM. Live scores and updates can be found here.
