ORLANDO – The UCF men's tennis team has been selected to travel to Columbus, Ohio in this year's ITA Kickoff Draft as the Knights will face host school No. 5 Ohio State as well as No. 44 Tulsa and and No. 52 Oregon from Jan. 28-29, 2023.
The ITA Kickoff Weekend Draft is when teams from around the country get the opportunity to choose which host site they would prefer to play at during the 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend. With many factors taken into consideration (travel, opponent, etc.), the Kickoff Weekend draft is always an exciting event that gives Coaches the power to choose where their team plays. With the 15 host sites already determined based on 2022 year-end rankings, the remaining teams were able to choose where they want to play based on year-end finish starting with the No. 16 ranked team and running until all of the spots are filled.
The four teams in the Ohio State bracket will look to get out to a hot start and punch their ticket to ITA National Indoors.
The Knights are coming off a season that saw them finish 8-15 overall, including 2-3 in conference play.
Three UCF men's tennis players earned four spots on the American Athletic Conference All-Conference Teams as Trey Hilderbrand was named to both the All-Conference singles and doubles teams, while Bogdan Pavel and Lleyton Cronje join Hilderbrand on the All-Conference Doubles Team.
More of the 2022-23 UCF men's tennis schedule is set to be released later this summer.
