ORLANDO – After a tremendous season in which she led the team in batting average, home runs, RBI and much more, Jada Cody has been named to two All-American teams. Cody was named to D1Softball's First Team All-America and listed as Second Team All-America according to Softball America.
Cody's 2022 season was one of the best in recent memory, as she finished the campaign with a .361 batting average and a 1.140 OPS, starting and playing in all of UCF's 63 games. Her final swing of the season landed beyond the left field wall in Norman Oklahoma, as she plated UCF's first run in Super Regional play in program history. Her final RBI count stands at 75, the most by any Knight in a single season. Her 15 home runs are the fourth most in a single campaign at UCF, sitting behind Stephanie Best's 26 in 2005, 18 in 2003 and 16 in 2004. Cody's .361 batting average finished fifth in the Black and Gold's single season list. Her 15 doubles was just one shy of tying the UCF season record.
Cody was named to the NFCA All-Region Second Team as well as the American Athletic Conference First Team. She made The American's top team by unanimous decision and eventually went on to be a part of the All-Tournament team and the Championship's Most Outstanding Player. She was named the conference's Player of the Week twice during the regular season and was also named to the honor roll twice.
Cody played all over the diamond for the Knights this season, starting 31 games at catcher, 24 at third base, seven in left field, and one at second base.
