Brittany Floyd Opens Up Heptathlon at Nationals

Eugene, Ore. – Brittany Floyd began the heptathlon today at day two of the NCAA Track and Field Championship. She is the first Knight in UCF history to make it to nationals for the heptathlon.
 
She kicked it off with a new personal best in the 100-meter hurdle by running a 13.90.
 
The redshirt senior jumped 1.60-meters in the high jump and followed that up by throwing 10.76-meters in the shot put.
 
Floyd capped the night off with a strong showing in the 200-meter. She posted a 25.07 to finish 11th. 
 
The Columbus, Ga. native will look to build off of day one tomorrow in the final three events starting with the long jump at 2:30 pm ET.
 
Tomorrow sets up to be a huge day for the Knights as they have athletes in four finals beginning with the discus at 5:05 pm ET.
