Men's Golf Selected to NCAA Tournament

ORLANDO – The UCF men's golf team has secured its spot in the NCAA Tournament as the Knights were selected to compete in the New Haven regional from May 16-18, the NCAA announced on Wednesday.

The Knights are one of 14 schools selected for the New Haven regional, hosted by Yale. It will take place Monday, May 16 through Wednesday, May 18 at Yale Golf Course in New Haven, Connecticut. The site will serve as one of six regional tournaments to determine the championship finals field.

The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

After finishing fourth at the conference championship, the Knights now have five top-five finishes under their belt, including a win at the Hartford Hawks Invitational back in September.

As a team, UCF has been to the NCAA Tournament 10 times in its history. The last time they did so in 2017-18, the Knights had just made their second straight NCAA National Championship appearance and finished tied-for-24th at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Oklahoma with a three-day total of 897.

On Tuesday, The American announced that two UCF golfers were unanimously tabbed All-Conference selections in Johnny Travale and Teddy Tetak.

If UCF advances, the national championships will be May 27-June 1 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Arizona State and The Thunderbirds are the hosts for the 2022 championships.
