ORLANDO – Marie Mattel will represent the UCF women's tennis team in the 2022 NCAA Singles Championship, which takes place at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex from May 23-28.
Mattel earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Singles Championships as she was the highest ranked player in the American Athletic Conference.
The junior is currently ranked No. 116 in the nation in singles play. She is 13-5 overall, with a 2-2 record against opposition in 2022. She enters the NCAA Tournament on a seven-match win streak.
A native of Le Plessis-Bouchard, France, Mattel was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week three times during the 2022 campaign.
Mattel begins singles action following the conclusion of the team championship. For the fourth straight season, the UCF women's tennis team is in the NCAA Tournament, heading to Coral Gables for the first and second rounds of tournament action. No. 21 UCF opens the tournament against No. 41 Alabama at 10 a.m. on May 6.
