Knights Sweep AAC Weekly Awards

ORLANDO – The UCF track and field team closed out the regular season with a sweep of the American Athletic Conference weekly awards for the second straight week. Rayniah Jones was named the Track Athlete of the Week while Adrienne Adams collected her second Field Athlete of the Week.

Jones earned her first outdoor accolade of the season after a solid showing at the UNF Invite on April 30. She advanced to the 100-meter hurdles where she turned in a season-best 12.79 to finish second. She also turned in a top 10 finish in the 100-meter dash, placing seventh.

The Miami, Florida, native moved up to eighth on the NCAA outdoor performance list in the 100H and fifth in the East region. She continues to hold the top time in the conference in the event. Tuesday's nod marks the sixth weekly conference honor of her career. She garnered the accolade three times during the 2022 indoor season and twice during the 2021 outdoor slate.

Adams was tabbed as the Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after another strong showing at the UNF Invite. The Portmore, Jamaica, native placed second in the discus with a throw of 175-7/53.53m.

Her runner-up outing marked her fourth top five finish in five outdoor meets this season. All five of her discus appearances saw her finish in the top 10.

Next up, UCF heads to Wichita, Kansas, for the 2022 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships May 13-15.
