FORT WORTH, Texas – The 2022 American Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Outdoor Track Performance belongs to Rayniah Jones for her 100-meter hurdles victory.
Jones defended her 100-meter hurdles title with a Cessna Stadium record time of 12.93 in the May 15 final. Thursday's nod gives her the season sweep of the conference accolades as her 60-meter hurdles title won the same honor for the indoor championship.
The awards are presented to student-athletes who recorded the highest-ranking marks on the NCAA performance list during the American Outdoor Track & Field Championships this season.
The Miami native is now a five-time conference champion after collecting the 60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash titles at the 2022 indoor championship.
Jones returns to action on March 11 as she and Latasha Smith compete at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. In addition to the hurdles, Jones represents the Knights in the 60-meter dash while Smith qualified in the 400-meter dash.
