ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF Baseball closes out the regular-season with a pivotal series against the Cincinnati Bearcats this weekend at John Euliano Park. Due to weather in the area, the schedule has been slightly altered to ensure the ability to play all three games this weekend.
Thursday the Knights and Bearcats will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m., with game two 45 minutes after the conclusion of the final out. Friday's game time will be reassessed following the doubleheader on Thursday.
A ticket to Thursday's contest is good for both games tomorrow, while Friday's ticket is still valid for Friday. If you have a ticket for Saturday's contest, it can be exchanged for tickets to either Thursday or Friday.
UCF enters play on Thursday tied for second in the American Conference. With a win on Thursday, UCF can clinch no lower than a three seed in the American Conference Tournament and can clinch a two seed by equaling or bettering Houston's record this weekend.
The Knights enter play with a 31-21, 13-8 record, batting. 282 on the season, second in the American and post a 3.97 ERA, lowest in the conference. UCF leads the American with 94 stolen bases, 19 clear of Houston with 75. The Knights are also holding opponents to a .243 batting average, lowest in the league.
Noah Orlando (.347) and Lex Boedicker (.344) rank fourth and fifth in the league for batting average, while the Knights hold three of the top five spots in solen bases. Ben Vespi posts the third lowest ERA in the league (2.89) and opponents are batting .218 off the righty.
