ORLANDO – The UCF Women's Golf team and head coach Emily Marron secured a big addition to the class of 2022-23 on Tuesday as the team announced the signing of Anna Nordfors to the squad.
Nordfors comes to UCF from Campbell University, where she was a four-year member of the Camels' golf team. She owns the best career stroke average (72.854) in Campbell history, and in her career with the Camels, Nordfors has compiled 14 career top-10 finishes, including four wins.
"Adding an experienced player like Anna to our lineup is exactly what we need for next year," said head coach Emily Marron. "She had a tremendous career at Campbell and that success will be something she can continue to build on here at UCF. We are excited to have Anna join our program and can see her being a natural leader right away."
In her senior season in 2021-22, she won three events, taking home individual medalist honors at the Big South Championship (74-70-68=212, -4) by an 8-stroke margin, the Golfweek Fall Challenge (66-71-71=208, -5), and the Babs Steffens Invitational (73-74-73=220, +4).
Nordfors also compiled seven top-10 outings in 10 tournaments in 2021-22 and ranked second among Big South golfers, 46th in the nation, with a 72.23 average score. She played par or better in 16 of 30 rounds this season and her season average of 72.22 is the third-lowest in school history.
Following her junior campaign in 2020-2021, Nordfors was named the Big South Golfer of the Year, and in her freshman season in 2018-19, she was named to the Big South All-Conference and All-Freshman teams.
Nordfors joins November signee Pimpisa "Sandwich" Sisutham as the latest addition to the Knights' 2022-23 incoming class.
