Leaderboard/Stats

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A pair Knights led the charge for UCF on day one of the NCAA New Haven Regional in New Haven, Connecticut on Monday as the Knights shot a combined 276(-4) to open play in sole possession of eighth place.

Following round one, the Knights sit nine strokes back from first place Wake Forest after the Demon Deacons opened with a 13-under-par 267 score.

At 4-under-par, the Knights beat out No. 27 N.C. State (284, +4), No. 31 Charlotte (280, E) and four other schools in the opening round. As it stands, UCF is just three strokes off from fifth place, which is the cutoff to advance to the finals in Scottsdale, Arizona from May 27 – June 1. The low individual not on a top-five team will also advance.

Seniors Teddy Teddy Tetak and Johnny Travale, who were both named to The American's All-Conference team this season, led the way for the Knights on Monday at 2-under-par 68, tying them for 15th place to open play.

Tetak knocked down two birdies and didn't shoot over on any hole, while Travale bogeyed just once and knocked down three birdies, including two through his first seven holes.

A trio of Knights in Egor Eroshenko, Luis Carrera and Clement Charmasson opened the regional even-with-par on the par-70, 6,409-yard Yale Golf Course, tying them for 36th place. Carrera and Charmasson both knocked down a team-high four birdies on the day to offset four bogeys, while Eroshenko started the day off with two birdies through the first six holes before posting a trio of bogeys and a birdie on the final 12 holes.

The Knights will tee off in round two of the New Haven regional on hole one Tuesday morning at 9:25 a.m., along with Virginia and Seton Hall. Fans can follow along live on Golfstat.com here.
