Men's Golf Set to Tee Off in New Haven Regional

ORLANDO – The UCF men's golf team is back in the big dance as the Knights are in New Haven, Connecticut ready to tee off in the NCAA New Haven regional beginning on Monday, May 16 and running through Wednesday, May 18.

Yale University is hosting the regional at its par-70, 6,409-yard Yale Golf Course. Teams will play three 18-hole rounds of golf each day, with the top five teams and the low individual not on those teams advancing to the finals in Scottsdale, Arizona from May 27 – June 1.
 
Head coach Bryce Wallor will roll out a lineup that he has utilized three times already this season, consisting of Teddy TetakJohnny TravaleEgor EroshenkoLuis Carrera and Clement Charmasson, with Markus Braadlie serving as a potential substitute should Wallor decide to use him.
  
The full 14-team field of competition the Knights will take on in the New Haven regional includes No. 5 North Carolina, No. 8 Texas Tech, No. 17 Wake Forest, No. 20 Illinois, UNF, Georgia Southern, Mississippi State, Sacred Heart, Illinois, N.C. State, Charlotte, Virginia, Seton Hall and host school Yale. Five individuals from various schools not in the NCAA Tournament will also be competing in the New Haven regional.

After finishing fourth at the conference championship, the Knights now have five top-five finishes under their belt, including a win at the Hartford Hawks Invitational back in September.

As a team, UCF has been to the NCAA Tournament 10 times in its history. The last time they did so in 2017-18, the Knights had just made their second straight NCAA National Championship appearance and finished tied for 24th at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Oklahoma with a three-day total of 897.
 
The Knights will tee off in the New Haven regional beginning on hole 10 at 8:55 a.m. Monday morning. UCF is paired up with Virginia and Seton Hall to begin the tournament.
