Former Knight Kyle Wilshire Qualifies to AT&T Byron Nelson

ORLANDO – Former UCF men's golf standout Kyle Wilshire will play in his third PGA Tour event in the last year as the 2014 graduate has Monday-qualified to the AT&T Byron Nelson after finishing tied for second place in the qualifier with an 6-under 66 score. 

Wilshire became one of four qualifiers to earn their spot in the upcoming PGA Tour event, taking place from May 12 – 15 at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. The event purse is just over 9 million dollars.

In 2021, Wilshire also qualified to the RSM Classic and the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

He shot 143(+1) at the RSM Classic before missing the cut, while at the 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, he finished tied for 62nd after turning in scores of 73-67-72-72=284(+1).

A member of the UCF men's golf team from 2010-14, Wilshire helped lead the Knights to a conference title in 2010-11, two NCAA Regional appearances in 2010-11 and 2013-14, and two NCAA Championship appearances in 2011-12 and 2012-13. He was on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2017, playing in 22 events.
