ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF Baseball continues the eight-game road trip in Tampa this weekend, as part two of the War on I4 kicks off on Friday. UCF leveled the all-time series at 76 a side earlier in the year, sweeping South Florida at John Euliano Park.
UCF has already clinched the War on I4 trophy for the sixth consecutive season, leading the point total 54-24 heading into the weekend. The Knights look to capture the final three-point opportunities for the baseball season.
The Knights enter play on Friday with a 27-17, 10-5 record, tied for second in the American Athletic Conference. USF has struggled as of late, being swept by Houston and falling to Florida in the midweek 18-3. They enter play in the bottom half of the American, posting a 23-21, 4-11 record.
As a team, the Knights are batting .282 with 48 home runs and have scored 293 runs. UCF is 20-9 when scoring first, 7-2 in conference play, while posting a 22-4 record, 10-1 in conference play when leading after seven innings. The Knights are also a perfect 11-0 when scoring 10 or more runs in a game, and 17-0 when allowing two or less runs.
UCF will look to keep pace with ECU this weekend, one game out of first place in the American. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from the USF Baseball Stadium.
