Stats/Leaderboard

ORLANDO – The UCF women's golf team was crowned champion at the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Georgia early Tuesday morning after weather caused the final round of play to be canceled. After claiming first place following the first two rounds on Monday, the Knights finished with a 576(E) score, 16 strokes ahead of second-place Memphis.

"We knew that weather was going to be a factor this week and I am really proud of how the whole team rallied yesterday afternoon," said head coach Emily Marron. "This is our last regular season event and we will definitely take this confidence and momentum into the AAC Championship in a few weeks."

Next up, UCF will turn its attention to the postseason as the Black and Gold prepare for the American Athletic Conference championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina from April 17-19.

The Knights opened the Brickyard with a 298(+8) round one to sit in third place halfway through Monday before firing back with an 8-under 280 second round to take the top spot. Four Knights hit par or better to close out the day and UCF was the only team to post a below-par round of golf in the event.

Five Knights finished within the top-10, including Ana Laura Collada, who was playing as an individual. Collado finished tied for fifth with a line of 72-73=145(+1).

Veteran UCF duo Tunrada Piddon and Alyssa Lamoureux led the Knights as the pair each shot 143(-1) to finish tied for second. Piddon opened with a 2-over 74 in round one before roaring back with a 3-under 69, while Lamoureux also settled in as Monday went on, shooting 2-under 70 in the second round after 73(+1) in the first round.

With scores of 146(+2), Zoe Allaux and Jess Baker both tied for seventh. Baker struggled to open, turning in a 77(+5) first round before battling back with a 3-under 69 total in round two. Allaux, meanwhile, was much more stable, shooting 74(+2) in round one and 72(E) to close out the event.

Sophomore Camille Banzet shot 75(+3) and 76(+4), tying her for 31st with a 151(+7) score.
