ORLANDO, Fla. – On Monday afternoon, The American Athletic Conference announced its Player and Pitcher of the Week recipients for the week of March 7. UCF's Ben McCabe was named as the Player of the Week after his stellar week at the plate, as the Knights went 4-0 sweeping rival USF to open conference play. This is the second Player of the Week award that McCabe has accumulated this season, winning the award opening weekend.
Pitcher Connor Staine was named to the AAC Honor Roll, after a six-shutout innings of one-hit baseball. He struck out eight Bulls and had a batting average of .056 against this weekend, improving to 4-0 on the season.

Ben McCabe started all four games for the Knights this week, posting a .692 average (9-for-13). He scored three runs and collected three doubles. He crushed his third home run of the season and collected seven RBIs as the Knights posted a perfect 4-0 record. The first basemen was hit by a pitch and added two sacrifice bunts to his line this week. He finished the week slugging 1.154 and posted an on base percentage of .714.
UCF will be back in action Tuesday as they hit the road to take on FAU in Boca Raton, Florida. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 from the FAU Baseball Stadium.
