Stephenson's Annual Basketball Symposium to Make Orlando Debut

ORLANDO – UCF Men's Basketball head strength coach Charles Stephenson is bringing his annual basketball symposium to The City Beautiful as the once-a-year seminar/convention is taking place on the campus of UCF from May 11-12.

Stephenson's High Performance Basketball Symposium was created for strength coaches, basketball coaches, athletic trainers, and therapists seeking the latest training concepts for improving athletic performance.

The symposium, which was founded by Stephenson in 2008, is a hands-on learning experience with the top basketball performance coaches in the country. SpecificStrength.com is the website for the annual symposium and a gathering place to promote and distribute basketball related strength and conditioning information.

"The Symposium is an event that keeps me up-to-date with what everyone in the sports performance world is up to across all leagues," said Stephenson. "We get to bring in some high-caliber scientists and presenters, and it's really just about raising our game and trying to get better."

"This will without a doubt be the best facilities we've ever had access to for the symposium," said Stephenson. "From the beautiful meeting room to the Nicholson fieldhouse for our hands-on meetings, I'm very excited for what this year's symposium can offer."

The symposium will kick off around noon on Wednesday, May 11 with a social meet in the Roth Tower at UCF, and wrap up close to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 12. Presentations will take place in the Wayne Densch Sports Center meeting room, while registration and the vendor showcase will be held inside of the adjacent Nicholson Fieldhouse.

In addition to Stephenson's symposium at UCF, Christian Thibaudeau will be holding a local seminar of his own at BioFit Performance in Oviedo Florida from May 14-15. Thibaudeau is a Canadian Olympian, bodybuilder, and strength and performance coach. His book, "Black Book of Training Secrets", was selected by livestrong.com as the best bodybuilding book for designing your own programs. You can register for Thibaudeau's seminar here.
