The Ann Arbor site will serve as one of six regional tournaments to determine the championship finals field.
A total of 72 teams and 36 individual participants have been selected for regional competition. Of the 396 players participating in the regionals, 132 will advance to the championship finals, with the top four teams and top two individuals (not on an advancing team) advancing from each regional.
This will be UCF's 16th regional appearance and the eighth in the last 11 seasons. Since head coach Emily Marron took over the program ahead of the 2012-13 season, the Knights have either made it as a team or sent an individual to every NCAA regional. Wednesday's selection mark's the third straight time the Knights have made an NCAA regional as a team (excluding the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season).
After finishing third at the conference championship, the Knights secured their seventh top-five finish of the season. The Black and Gold have won two tournaments to this point in the 2022 campaign in the Evie Odom Invitational (Oct. 3-5) and the Brickyard Collegiate (April 4-5).
Last season, head coach Emily Marron's squad made it to the NCAA regional championship in Louisville, Kentucky, where the Knights finished tied for eighth place out of 18 teams. In 10 years as UCF's head coach, Marron has led the Knights to six NCAA Tournament appearances, two conference championships, and has twice been named AAC Coach of the Year.
If UCF advances, the national championships will be May 20-25 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona hosted by Arizona State and The Thunderbirds. The final three days of the championships will be televised live by the GOLF Channel.
