BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Day two of the 2022 American Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship is in the books and the Knights are in fifth after another solid round of golf at Southern Hills Planation in Brooksville, Florida on Saturday.
As a team, UCF shot, 287(-1) total for the second straight day. Headed into the final round, the Knights sit 15 strokes back from first place SMU after the Mustangs took over the top spot with an 11-under-par 277 second round, bringing their score to 559(-17).
UCF senior Teddy Tetak built on a strong start to the tournament with an even better second round of play on Saturday. After a 2-under-par 70 on Friday, the Limbach, Slovakia native knocked down six birdies to post a 3-under-par 69 score on day two, bringing his two-round total to 139(-5). He's tied for sixth place.
Sophomore Egor Eroshenko also finished under-par on the afternoon after knocking down three birdies on the day. He's tied for 10th place headed into the final round with a 141(-3) score.
In the middle of the pack for UCF thus far has been seniors Johnny Travale and Clement Charmasson. Travale followed up a 1-over-par performance on Friday with an even 72 on Saturday, brining his two-day total to 145 and tying him for 17th. Charmasson, meanwhile is currently tied for 33rd after a 3-over-par 75 day two brought his total score to 149(+5).
For the second straight day, senior Luis Carrera shot 78(+6), placing him in 41st place headed into the final round. Head coach Bryce Wallor will utilize his one substitution for the tournament on Sunday as senior Markus Braadlie will replace Carrera for the final round.
