ORLANDO – The UCF men's golf team is prepped and ready to go for the American Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship, returning to Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Florida for the second straight season. The tournament tees off on Friday, April 22 and runs through Sunday, April 24 with teams playing three 18-hole rounds.

The course will play at a par-72 and measure approximately 7,221 yards for the weekend.

Southern Hills was designed by renowned golf course architect Pete Dye and opened for play in 2006. The club has hosted both PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour qualifying school tournaments and has served as a Monday qualifier site for the PGA TOUR's Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor.

The Knights, who have already won one event this season and finished in the top five in three others, will roll with a lineup consisting of Teddy Tetak, Johnny Travale, Egor Eroshenko, Luis Carrera and Clement Charmasson over the weekend.

The lineup is nearly identical to the one head coach Bryce Wallor utilized in last year's conference championship, with the only difference being Luis Carrera taking the place of Max O'Hagan, who graduated last spring. The Knights finished tied for fifth place at the 2021 championship after shooting a combined 869(+5). UCF last won a conference championship as a part of Conference USA in 2010-11 but have yet to secure one while in The American.

Travale has proven to be one of the Knights' top golfers since transferring to UCF in 2019-20, and this season is no different. The Hamilton, Ontario native leads all Knights with a 70.76 scoring average and ranks 168 as an individual in the country following the latest Golfstat rankings.

The field of competition the Knights will take on in the conference championship includes AAC foes SMU, South Florida, Cincinnati, Wichita State, Temple, Houston, Memphis, and ECU.

The Knights will tee off on hole one at 8:50 a.m. Friday morning. UCF is paired up with Cincinnati and Memphis to begin the tournament.
