Knights Blanked on Friday Night 10-0

ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF Baseball (21-14, 5-3) was shutout for the first time since February 23, 2021, falling to ECU (21-15, 6-2) 10-0. William Saxton was pegged with the loss, coming into the game in the fourth due to Hunter Patteson exiting with an injury.
 
Saxton allowed seven hits and eight runs, throwing a season high 107 pitches. ECU grabbed the lead in the fourth, scoring four runs off the Knights to take a 4-0 lead. They added runs in the fifth, sixth, and ninth to grow their lead to 10-0 and shutout UCF for the first time since February 23, 2021, a 7-0 loss to the hands of Stetson. 
 
David Litchfield worked two innings of relief for the Knights on Friday, allowing two runs and striking out two batters. UCF hitters were held to three hits, as Gephry Pena, Ben McCabe and Pablo Ruiz all registered a base knock. Andrew Sundean found his 13 game hitting streak come to an end, after an 0-for-3 day at the plate.
