UCF Hosts War On I-4, Senior Knight

ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 49 UCF men's tennis team is set to host the War On I-4 matchup against rival, South Florida, on Senior Knight this Saturday, April 16, from the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
 
UCF leads the overall all-sports series over the Bulls, 42-12, this season and could clinch the all-sports trophy for the sixth-consecutive year this weekend with a victory in either the men's or women's tennis matches on Saturday.
 
The Knights were on the road last weekend and came home with a win over No. 40 Tulsa. Despite dropping the doubles point, the Knights swept singles by winning the first four courts to clinch the match at 4-1.
 
In this week's ITA rankings,Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel moved back up six spots in doubles to reach No. 36. The duo is 6-1 this season and 4-0 over nationally ranked opponents.
 
Lleyton Cronje and Bodgan Pavel are also ranked in the top-40 in doubles at No. 39 while Lleyton Cronje and Cooper White are ranked No. 84.
 
In singles, Hilderbrand continues to be ranked as he is No. 90 in the newest rankings.

South Florida may lead the all-times series, 34-11, over UCF, but the Knights have been dominant in recent years.
 
UCF is on a four-match win streak as it has not lost to the Bulls since April of 2018 or 1,090 days ago and counting.
 
THE BULLS
South Florida is 12-9 on the season and have posted six wins over ranked teams, including No. 16 Columbia. The Bulls are also on a four-match win streak.
 
One doubles team is ranked with No. 37 Rithvik Bollipalli and Bruno Oliveira.
 
UCF and South Florida have had six common opponents this season. Both teams defeated UNF, Tulane, and Tulsa, but the Knights were able to get the win over FAU while South Florida did not. Both teams also fell to Georgia and SMU.
