ORLANDO – For the second straight weekend, the UCF men's golf team will see tournament action as the Black and Gold are headed to Augusta, Georgia to play in the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational from April 2-3. The event provides the individual winner an exemption into a PGA Tour Event.
UCF first tees off on Saturday morning as teams will open with 36 holes before closing with a final 18-hole round on Sunday. Aiming for their second win and fifth top-five finish this season, the Knights will play on the par-72, 7,086-yard Forest Hills Golf Club. Fans can follow along with scores live on golfstat.com here.
With four top-25 teams in the field, the list of teams competing alongside the Knights includes host school Augusta, No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 12 Texas, No. 13 Notre Dame, No. 24 Illinois, Furman, Georgia State, Mercer, Navy, UNF, Northwestern, South Carolina, Chattanooga and Alabama.
In 2021, the Knights posted a combined score of 858(-6) to finish last year's edition of the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational tied with No. 6 Arizona State in sixth place.
Due to the short turnaround between the John Hayt Collegiate and the upcoming Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, the team did not hold another qualifier. Instead, the six players that competed in The Hayt will be the only players eligible to play at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational.
After the John Hayt Collegiate concluded, it was determined that the following student-athletes will compete for the team at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational: Johnny Travale, Teddy Tetak, Luis Carrera, Egor Eroshenko, and Markus Braadlie.
The Augusta Haskins Award Invitational will serve as the final tune-up opportunity for UCF in the regular season as the next event on the Knights' schedule is the American Athletic Conference Tournament, scheduled for April 22-24 in Brooksville, Florida.
