Knights Welcome No. 2 Ole Miss to Orlando

Orlando, Fla. – UCF baseball is back at home this weekend for a three game series against No. 3 Ole Miss beginning on Friday night at 6 p.m. at John Euliano Park.
The Knights are coming in hot winning seven of their first eight games of the season. They have had it working in all aspects of the game. They are averaging 9.4 runs per game while also being second in the country in ERA giving up 0.86 runs per game.
Ole Miss comes into the series 8-0 with sweeps over Charleston Southern, VCU, and ULM, and a win over Arkansas State. They are also swinging hot bats, scoring just over 10 runs per game. Their pitching staff has an ERA of 2.20 and have 57 strikes outs over their 45 innings.

  • The Knights' bats have been hot to start the year, they lead the conference in walks, doubles, hits, home runs, on base percentage, runs, scoring, slugging percentage, and triples.
  • They also have been wreaking havoc on the base paths and lead the conference with 22 stolen bases this season.
  • The pitching has been stellar as well, they lead the conference in ERA, hits allowed per nine innings, shutouts, strikeouts-to-walk ratio, and WHIP.
  • Gephry Pena leads the conference in hits with 12 and is third in RBI's and home runs with nine and three respectively.
  • Hunter Patteson has gotten it done on the bump with an ERA of 0.00, 19 strikeouts, and zero walks.

The Knights will travel to Daytona on Tuesday for a midweek against Bethune-Cookman at 6:30 p.m. before coming home for another midweek on Wednesday against Florida A&M at 6:00 p.m.
