ORLANDO – The first round of The Hayt is in the books for the UCF men's golf team after a 36-hole day one saw the Knights shoot 599(+23) to sit in ninth place ahead of Arkansas State, Louisville and others.

Senior Johnny Travale and sophomore Egor Eroshenko led the charge for UCF on Sunday at Sawgrasss Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Travale opened with a 2-under 70 round, the only sub-par round of the day for the Knights, but followed it up with a 6-over 76 round two. Eroshenko, meanwhile, was consistent, turning in back-to-back 1-over 73 scores. Both are tied for 11th with a 146(+2) total.

Senior Teddy Tetak also had a solid first day at The Hayt as he finished just one-over-par in the second round and his two-round total of 148(+4) has him squarely within the top 25 heading into the final day of action.

After a tough second half of the day, freshman Jonah Leach finished at 159(+15), tying him for 77th place, and senior Luis Carrera shot 163(+19), placing him tied for 83rd.

Playing individually, senior Markus Braadlie shot 7-over 151. The Knights will be back underway in the final round of The Hayt Monday morning.
