ORLANDO – The UCF men's golf team is in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida for the annual John Hayt Collegiate, or 'The Hayt', hosted by the University of North Florida from March 26-27.
The Knights kick off play on Sunday with 36 holes of shotgun play before finishing out with a final 18-hole round on Monday at the par-72, 6,966-yard Sawgrass Country Club. Fans can follow along with scores live on golfstat.com here.
The ffield of teams competing at the event includes UCF, No. 19 Tennessee, No. 25 LSU, Louisville, North Florida, Charlotte, UAB, Liberty, Georgia Southern, Florida Gulf Coast, North Texas, Jacksonville, Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina and Navy
The Knights, who have participated in The Hayt every year 13 times since 2005, placed fifth at the event in 2021 with an 869(+5) score.
This year, the Black and Gold will utilize a lineup consisting of Johnny Travale, Teddy Tetak, Egor Eroshenko, Luis Carrera and Jonah Leach, with Markus Braadlie competing as an individual. Full qualifying information for the event can be found below.
QUALIFYING INFORMATION
- Johnny Travale – will play in the first spot in the lineup at the John Hayt Collegiate as a result of finishing in 3rd place at the Coral Creek Club Invitational. The top 25 finish earned him an exemption into this event.
- Teddy Tetak – will play in the second spot in the lineup at the John Hayt Collegiate as a result of finishing in 2nd place in the five-round qualifier with a score of +2.
- Egor Eroshenko – will play in the third spot in the lineup at the John Hayt Collegiate as a result of finishing in 13th place at the General Hackler Championship. The top 25 finish earned him an exemption into this Egor
- Luis Carrera – will play in the fourth spot in the lineup at the John Hayt Collegiate as a coaches selection
- Jonah Leach – will play in the fifth spot in the lineup at the John Hayt Collegiate as a coaches selection
