ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 32 UCF women's tennis team is ready for a big weekend as it hosts Eastern Michigan on Thursday, March 3, No. 17/18 Michigan on Saturday, March 5, and the reigning national champion, No. 5/6 Texas, on Sunday, March 6 in Orlando, Florida from the USTA National Campus.
 
All matches will have live stats and will be live streamed.
 
The Knights are coming off a strong weekend at home after battling No. 2 Oklahoma and earning a big sweep over No. 17 Baylor.
 
Highlighting the weekend was the doubles team of Evgeniya Levashova and Marie Mattel as they took down the nation's No. 1 doubles team from Baylor by a score of 6-3.
 
THE FIELD
THE EAGLES
Eastern Michigan is 7-7 overall this season and 5-4 when on the road. The Eagles are coming off a 1-2 weekend after falling to Butler, 1-4, and Mercer, 0-7, and defeating Bellarmine, 4-1.
 
This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2009 where the Knights won with a clean sweep over the Eagles, 7-0.
 
UCF has also won the last four matchups over Eastern Michigan, but the Eagles still lead the all-time series, 5-4.
 
THE WOLVERINES
Michigan continues to climb in the rankings, reaching No. 17 in ITA rankings and No. 18 in the USTA rankings. Michigan is now 5-3 on the season with two of its losses coming from top-10 ranked teams of No. 2 North Carolina, 2-5, and No. 8 Pepperdine, 3-4. The Wolverines have notable wins over No. 4 California, 5-2, and No. 12 Georgia Tech, 4-3.
 
Three Wolverines are ranked in singles, including top-10 ranked Kari Miller at No. 8, No. 107 Jaedan Brown, and No. 113 Andrea Cerdan.
 
Michigan leads the all-time series over UCF, 1-3. The last time the Knights defeated the Wolverines was in 2018, winning 4-2.
 
THE LONGHORNS
Texas, the reigning national champion, is ranked No. 5 in ITA rankings and No. 6 in USTA rankings this week after being 8-3 on the season. The Longhorns swept both Florida Atlantic and SMU at the ITA Kickoff Weekend to advance to ITA National Indoors where they fell to No. 8 Oklahoma in the second round.
 
Texas is coming off a split weekend where it defeated No. 6 California in a close match, 4-3, but also fell to No. 64 Stanford, 2-5.
 
Four Longhorns are ranked in singles, including No. 4 Peyton Stearns, No. 40 Kylie Collins, No. 76 Fernanda Labrana and No. 83 Malaika Rapolu while the doubles team of Charlotte Chavatipon and Kylie Collins are also ranked at No. 36.
 
The Knights and Longhorns met for the first time last season where Texas, ranked second at the time, defeated UCF 4-0 at home.
 
SATURDAY ACTIVITIES
Fans are encouraged to come out and support both the women's and men's tennis team on Saturday as the Knights host Michigan in a double header with the women's match at 12:00 p.m. and the men's beginning at 5:00 p.m.
 
Saturday's match will offer food trucks, games, and chalking as early as 11:30 a.m., autographs between 2:30-3:30 p.m. and a Free Kids' Clinic at 3:30 p.m. To sign up for the clinic, click here.
