ORLANDO – The Knights got off to a solid start in the Briar's Creek Invitational in Kiawah, South Carolina on Sunday as UCF is tied for third place following the first round and a half of play.
The Knights shot 295(+7) in round one and are currently two over in the second round with less than nine holes to go.
A pair of UCF golfers are among the top 10 in the event following's the opening rounds of play as junior Tunrada Piddon posted a 2-under 70 score to open and is even through 14 in round two, tying her for fourth place, while sophomore Jess Baker is tied for ninth after opening with a 75(+3) and following it up with a 3-under-par performance 17 holes into the second round.
Sophomore Camille Banzet shot 74(+2) in round one and is currently 5-over-par in round two, tying her for 40th place, while freshman Zoe Allaux turned in a 4-over-76 round one and is 2-over through 15 holes in round two, tying her for 48th place.
Graduate-student Ana Laura Collado was 4-over-76 in round one and is 7-over-par near the end of the second round.
The Knights will wrap up the second round early Tuesday morning before closing out the event. Full results from day one at the Briar's Creek Invitational can be found below.
