#25 UCF Falls to #24 NC State

RALEIGH, N.C.  – The No. 25 UCF men's tennis fell to No. 24 NC State while on the road with a score of 4-0 on Friday, February 6, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
 
NC State took the doubles point but on court one Lleyton Cronje and Bogdan Pavel took the first match over Yannai Barkai vs Collin Shick, 6-3. Alan Rubio and JC Roddick then dropped their match on court three, 4-6, to Joseph Schrader and Joseph Wayand, leaving everything up to court two.
 
Trey Hilderbrand and Cooper White battled but ultimately fell in a tie break to Robin Catry and Luca Staeheli, giving the Wolfpack the doubles point.
 
In singles, on court three, Alan Rubio fell to Martins Rocens, 3-6, 0-6, giving the Wolfpack a 2-0 lead.
 
After forcing a third set, Lleyton Cronje couldn't hold on as he fell to No. 36 Robin Catry by a score of 3-6, 6-4, 0-6 on court two. Shortly after, Bogdan Pavel dropped his match to Luca Staeheli in a second-set tie break, 1-6, 6-7, which clinched the match for the Wolfpack, 4-0.
 
Court one, No. 16 Trey Hilderbrand was making a comeback against Rafa Izquierdo Luquewent, but the match went unfinished, 2-6, 6-4, 4-3. JC Roddick just began is match on court five but was also unfinished at 2-2. Cooper White's match on court six didn't take place.
 
UP NEXT
The Knights will travel up the road to Tallahassee to take on Florida State on Friday, February 11 at 5:00 p.m.
