ORLANDO – The UCF track and field team returns to action at the Charlie Thomas Invitational this weekend in Bryan-College Station, Texas.
The Knights join 21 additional schools, including Alabama, Baylor, Houston, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, Rice and the host Aggies among others at the two-day meet.
Action begins with the heptathlon on Friday. The five events begin at 3:30 p.m. ET. Saturday competition starts at 1 p.m. ET with the long jump, followed by track action at 1:30 p.m. Live results will be provided by Flash Results. Saturday action will stream on the SEC Network+.
Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Tickets are available for purchase online at 12thman.com/tracktickets as well as at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium ticket office.
UCF enters the weekend ranked 57th in the USTFCCCA national rankings, and is sixth in the South Region. The Knights have four events that landed in the top 10 of the USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings. Triple jump leads the way at third; long jump and 60-meter dash each hold the No. 7 slot and the 400-mter dash debuted at eighth.
The Knights are back in action after a bye weekend. The last time out, UCF saw both its school and freshman pentathlon records fall as Brittany Floyd and Holly Cassels each turned in personal bests to add their names to the record book. The Knights also captured four event titles at the Hokie Invitational as Ciara Holback won the 60-meter dash, Latasha Smith won the 300m, Rayniah Jones won the 200m and Charlotte Crook won the 800m.
