WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 25 UCF men's tennis falls to No. 10 Wake Forest while on the road with a score of 7-0 on Friday, February 4, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The doubles point came down to a tie break on court one and Wake Forest was able to clinch the point, but the Knights played tough.
Court three was the first to finish as JC Roddick and Alan Rubio fell to No. 26 Robert Maciag and Ben Draper, 6-3. But Trey Hilderbrand and Cooper White take down the No. 19 ranked duo of Jakob Schnaitter and Siddhant Banthia with a score of 7-5 on court two, to tie it up.
It came down to a tie break on court one, but Bogdan Pavel and Lleyton Cronje were edged out in the end by Eduardo Nava and Matthew Thomson, falling 7-6(3).
In singles, Alan Rubio first fell to Melios Efstathiou on court three by a score of 6-2, 6-3 while Cooper White fell to No. 85 Jakob Schnaitter on court six, 6-4, 6-2.
Bogdan Pavel then nearly took his match to a third set but fell to No. 75 Filippo Moroni 6-4, 7-5 on court four which clinched the match for Wake Forest, 4-0.
Despite the match being clinched, the Knights finished strong. On court five JC Roddick forced a third set against No. 100 Taha Baadi, which turned into a super tie break. Roddick put up a fight but fell 3-6, 7-5, 7-10.
Trey Hilderbrand made it difficult for Jurabek Karimov on court one but was unable to get the sets as he fell 7-6(2), 7-6(2).
Court two went three full sets as Lleyton Cronje never gave up against Eduardo Nava, but ultimately fell 7-5, 4-6, 6-7(2).

The Knights will stay in the state of North Carolina to face No. 24 NC State on Sunday, February 6, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
