ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 18 UCF women's tennis team will travel for the first time this season to play at No. 7 Virginia on Friday, February 4, before returning home to face Georgia Southern on Sunday, February 6, at the USTA National Campus.
 
Both matches will have live stats and will be live streamed.
 
Last time out, the Knights hosted the ITA Kickoff Weekend for the first time in program history. UCF defeated UC-Santa Barbara in the first round, 4-2, before falling to No. 25 Auburn in the Championship match, just missing its chance to advance to the ITA National Indoors.
 
The tandem of Evgeniya Levashova and Nadja Bay Christians are undefeated at No. 2 doubles in all three matches so far this season, including two clinchers for the doubles point.
 
In singles, Marie Mattel and Nadja Bay Christians have also both clinched matches for UCF.
 
THE FIELD
THE CAVALIERS
No. 7 Virginia is undefeated so far this season, 5-0, with four sweeps over Marshall (7-0), Longwood (7-0), Richmond (7-0), James Madison (4-0) and a 4-3 win over Stanford in the ITA Kickoff Championship match to advance to ITA National Indoors.
 
The Cavaliers have three singles ranked, including No. 29 Natasha Subhash, No. 66 Melodie Collard, and No. 90 Elaine Chervinsky. Additionally, they have two doubles ranked as well in No. 14 Melodie Collard and Hibah Wooten and No. 22 Melodie Collard and Emma Navarro.
 
Last season, the Cavaliers advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Georgia, 1-4.
 
This will be the first meeting between the two teams in dual season

THE EAGLES
Georgia Southern has only played one match this season, falling to Clemson 7-0.
 
Last season, the Eagles won their first Sun Belt Conference Championship with a 4-3 win over the No. 1 seed South Alabama. They went on to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history but fell in the first round of the tournament to No. 11 Georgia Tech, 5-0.
 
The Knights lead the all-time series over the Eagles, 7-3, including a 7-0 win last season at home in Orlando. UCF has not lost to the Eagles since 1982.
