ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF women's tennis team begins a 10-match home stretch this weekend, hosting Oklahoma on Friday, February 25, and Baylor on Sunday, February 27, from the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
 
Both matches will have live stats and will be live streamed while the first 100 fans will receive a UCF flag at Friday night's match against No. 2 Oklahoma.
 
The Knights return home after spending last weekend on the road. UCF opened the weekend off strong with a 4-1 win over LSU in Baton Rouge. The Knights clinched the doubles point while Nandini Sharma clinched the match on court six in singles play.
 
UCF then traveled down to Miami but was unable to come home with a win as the Knights fell to No. 21 Miami and FIU.
 
THE FIELD
THE SOONERS
Oklahoma is the highest-ranked opponent UCF will have faced yet this season with a No. 2 ranking in the ITA and No. 3 in USTA rankings. The Sooners are 12-1 overall, including six wins over ranked teams.
 
Oklahoma became the ITA National Indoors runner-up after a 2-4 loss to UNC in the championship match, which is its only loss so far this season.
 
Four Sooners are ranked in No. 14 Layne Sleeth, No. 34 Carmen Corley, No. 38 Ivana Corley, and No. 120 Dana Guzman while two tandems are also ranked with No. 4 Carmen Corley/ Ivana Corley and No. 25 Alexandra Pisareva/Layne Sleeth.
 
Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 4-1, over the Knights
 
THE BEARS
Baylor earned a top-20 ranking of 17 in the ITA while it is ranked 22nd in the USTA rankings. The Bears are 6-3 overall this season and are on a four-match winning streak.  
 
One Bear is ranked in singles in No. 122 Alina Shcherbinina and one tandem is highly ranked at No. 4 Alicia Herrero Linana/Melany Krywoj.
 
The Knights are on a three-match winning streak over the Bears to lead the all-time series, 3-1.
