UCF Makes USA Today Top 25 Debut

Opens in a new window USA Today/WBCA Top 25 Poll

ORLANDO – A historic season continues for the UCF women's basketball team as the Knights earned their first USA Today/WBCA Top 25 ranking.

UCF (20-3, 12-1 The American) made its debut at No. 25 in the coaches poll.

A 68-31 victory at Temple on Feb. 19 extended UCF's win streak to eight games and marked the fifth 20-win season under head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson. The Knights have posted six straight seasons with a winning percentage of 63 percent or better under Coach Abe, and only missed a sixth 20-win campaign due to an abbreviated 2020-21 slate.

The Knights have the second-best scoring defense in the country and are holding opponents to just 48.5 points per game. In the last three games, UCF has not allowed its opponent to score more than 35 points. The Black and Gold also rank fourth nationally in field goal percentage (33.5) and 14th in steals per game (11.3).

UCF sits 24th in the NCAA NET ranking as of Feb. 22 and were just outside the top 25 with eight points in the Associated Press poll on Feb. 21.

The Black and Gold sit at the top of the American Athletic Conference standings with just two games remaining in the regular season. UCF can clinch the regular season title with a win over Cincinnati on Saturday in Addition Financial Arena. The game tips at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
