MIAMI, Fla. – The No. 19 UCF women's tennis team fell to FIU on the road on Monday, February 21, by a score of 4-1 in Miami, Florida.
FIU was able to capture the doubles point. Noel Saidenova and Anique Kattenbery fell to Ines Bekrar and Yasmine Kabbaj on court three but Sophia Biolay and Nandini Sharma defeated Andreea Velcea and Kristina Miletic, 6-1, on court two, tying it up. But Andjela Skrobonja and Kamila Umarova topped Marie Mattel and Evgeniya Levashova on court one to win the point.
In singles action, No. 48 Evgeniya Levashova fell to No. 104 Yasmine Kabba on court one but Nandini Sharma topped Basak Akbas on court five, 6-3, 6-3.
Noel Saidenova battled hard but fell on court two against Kamila Umarova, 7-5, 7-6 while Anique Kattenberg forced a third set but fell 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 to Ines Bekrar on court six as the Panthers clinched the match.
